Today, we’re taking you to meet Sophie Machenaud for this new edition of Arsène and Family.
Meeting Sophie Machenaud and her family in Bidart
We meet Sophie and her tribe in Bidart: “We’re a small team of five. Maxime and I have been together for 20 years. We have Gaspard, our eldest, who is 11, Augustin, who is 9, and Sacha, who is 5.”
A very close-knit family who welcomes us warmly; at their home, everyone is all smiles.
Sophie successfully balances family life and her professional career as a sales representative and photo stylist for the magazine Côte Basque Madame. Her days are carefully organized from the very start: “Maxime drops Gaspard off at middle school in Bayonne before heading to the club. On my side, I take Augustin and Sacha to school in Biarritz. I usually have two or three meetings a day. I also try to fit in two or three sports sessions a week.”
Evenings are all about slowing down: homework, games… moments spent together as a family. “We try, at least three times a week, depending on our respective work trips, to all sit down together for dinner.”
Weekends are just as busy, filled with sports, activities, outings and time with friends: “We also love long summer days, picnics and sunset evenings.”
A happy and close-knit family, making the most of every opportunity to create special moments together.
"A happy home is a home that is full of life and laughter."
A Home Full of Life and Togetherness
Throughout the photoshoot, it was immediately clear how close Sophie and her sons are: laughter, smiles, and looks that speak for themselves. “For me, a happy home is a home that is full of life and laughter. I could have said a home where everyone has their own space, but that was before we had a very large house where we all ‘live’ in the same room!”
A home filled with life and joy—that is exactly what comes through. Gaspard, Augustin and Sacha naturally join in (you would think they had been doing this their whole lives), and you can clearly feel the bond that unites the three of them.
As Sophie explains: “We try to pass on empathy, kindness, a taste for adventure, and a strong work ethic to our children.” Values that are deeply rooted in their own story: “Maxime and I had very different upbringings. We met when we were very young and created our own traditions, and I hope my children will create theirs when the time comes.”
In keeping with these values, the family also cherishes its own traditions: “Every year, we take a family photo at Banc d’Arguin (Cap Ferret) to remember our best holidays and perhaps one day see the family grow.”
A Story of Style and Family
Sophie discovered the brand through content creators on social media, but also thanks to our stores along the coast. “I love the softness of the designs, the cool yet refined style, the sensitive and poetic universe, as well as the ethical commitment. It’s a brand that is at once poetic, creative, and colourful!”
Our visit with Sophie and her boys is coming to an end. It was a real pleasure getting to know them. A big thank you to them for their trust and warm welcome.
